Kay Yoo, DDS
Dr. Yoo earned her DDS degree at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 2001. While in the program, Dr. Yoo had a specialized interest in cosmetic dentistry. Outside of her schooling, she had a deep interest in community services and engaged in various community activities.
After practicing dentistry at dental clinics in Michigan for a few years, Dr. Yoo joined the US Army as a dental officer in 2004. She practiced at the Carious Dental Clinic at Yongsan Garrison in Korea – from 2004 to 2008 – treating soldiers, officers, and their family members. In 2008, she was appointed as the Division Dental Surgeon of the 2nd Infantry Division. While continuing practicing, she supervised and managed the dental readiness of over 5,000 soldiers and officers in the division. Practicing dentistry in the Army offered her great opportunities to practice various dental skills while learning the most advanced dental techniques. Dr. Yoo was promoted to Major in 2009.
Proudly serving for the country, Dr. Yoo loved practicing dentistry in the Army. But unfortunately, with her two sons – Michael and David – beginning school, her commitment to their well-being were as equally important. With this in mind, she decided to separate from the Army in 2009 to commit further to their education.
Since relocating to the Bay Area in 2009, she has practiced as an associate dentist at a few local dental clinics. While continuing her practice, Dr. Yoo was active in learning new and advanced dental skills, participating in various training and seminars in the field of cosmetic dentistry and techniques in relation to dental implants. After practicing for five years, and having polished her skills and techniques, Dr. Yoo decided to establish her own practice to offer services most optimal for patients and further her desire in serving the community.
Dr. Yoo is passionate about life, family, and particularly in helping people and serving the community. Dr. Yoo believes and desires for all of her patients to feel at home during their visit and treatment. Whether it is checking in, waiting for treatment, or receiving the actual treatment, she believes every step should be done in a comfortable and efficient manner.
